U.S President Joe Biden has not taken hardcore military action on the ongoing invasion of Ukraine, but is slapping sanctions on Russia saying it will weaken their economy.
Sanctions are financial penalties for committing some wrongdoings. There have been several sanctions that NATO and other allies have put on Russia due to the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. Sanctions are mainly used to weaken the economy. In this case, the sanctions that NATO, the EU, and the U.S are putting on Russia are used to create some sort of uprising, like a bubble that has been pumped too much air causing it to pop. Sanctions work the same way. NATO and other allies are trying to make this the initiation of democracy in Russia.
